TV Bros did a feature on Moe

This is a TV program magazine "TV Bros" October 3rd issue.
"It's time to think about Moe"

Haruko Momoi was interviewed.
She is written as the first person who used the word "Moe" on the mass media.
She used "Moe" in a TV program aired from 1999 to 2001.
When did she learn the word "Moe"?
She says "○○-chan, Moe" is came from "○○-chan, Kaaii"(*1) used widely by the people in PC communications before the Internet is common.
And she says "And then, "○○-chan, Kuu !"(*2) was getting popular instead of "○○-chan, Kaaii"
That happened in the early '90s."
She says "I saw Moe in a PC communication by fans of Hekiru Shiina. That was my first time seeing Moe. A fan posted his comment "Hekiheki, moemoe"
So, she concluded that "Moe" came from the worlds of anime fans and voice actor fans.
But she pointed out that "○○ is my wife" is more popular than "○○-chan, Moe" now.

(*1)not "Kawaii" "Kaaii" sounds tongue-tied, the relation between"Kawaii" and "Kaaii" is similar to the relation between ○○-chan and ○○-tan.
(*2)"Kuu !" is a expression for joy. For example, Japanese men sometimes say "Kuu !" when they drank beer.

She joined many anime conventions held in the foreign countries and met many foreign otaku.
She says "Everyone says Akihabara is their dream town where they'd love to visit once in their lives. And many foreign otaku work hard to make money to come to Akihabara"
